Nicky Chubb
Nicky is a mixed media painter who lives and works in Surrey. Her paintings are essentially optimistic. She is inspired by life, colour and movement in anything, whether trees, tenacious wildflowers or nudes. A fashion graduate from Central St Martin’s School of Art, the strong influence of a lifelong love of textiles can be seen in her use of colour and texture. Her paintings are particularly influenced by embroidery, both in colour and in the use of collage and expressive mark making to add texture and depth.
Most of Nicky’s work is in mixed media on canvas, but she is also increasingly working in collage, recycling used and found scraps of paper to create bright florals and nudes.
