Maria Murray

Maria is obsessed with florals at all stages of their life cycle.

Using the process of scanography she creates painterly compositions, whilst capturing exquisite details within her chosen subjects.

With the very starting point beginning from a seed in her own garden, Maria is passionate about creating as little waste as possible, often focussing on perennials which use less waste and energy. These flowers are grown to be enjoyed in her home and then turned into beautiful pieces of art from fresh to dry.

Themes of connection and authenticity inspire her work. Maria “aims to connect [the viewer] to a feeling, such as love, grief, or a memory that brings a smile… to touch something deep inside your soul, to sow a seed, to open a door. To have a conversation. Maybe give a different perspective… The more authentic we become, the happier we feel. We become kinder to each other, to our earth, to all living beings”.

It is a beautiful take on interconnectedness and the cycle of nature.
